Local Cleanup needs people who care!

Since 1984 Sunken Treasure Scuba Center has been involved with local waterway debris cleanups along with our partners, PADI Project AWARE (Aquatic World Awareness Responsibility, and Education) and Clinton County Cleanscapes. New this year we'll also be working with The Georgia Sea Turtle Center Marine Debris Initiative to head off debris before it gets to the ocean. Since 2000 when we started keeping records we have removed over 10,000 tires and tons of other trash from our local waterways. Though we remove trash anytime we dive, our scheduled events this year will be July 26th & Sept 6th, The area of intent will be Bald Eagle Creek which borders the south side of Lock Haven and empties into the Susquehanna River. This area is in desperate need of our attention therefore we could use as many volunteers as possible.  We'll need people on shore, in the water, photographers, boaters/boats and even a couple of people to collect data.  So there is room for everyone to help.  For more information or to volunteer please call Rich Best @ Sunken Treasure Scuba Center - 570-398-1458 - stsc@divestsc.com or Elisabeth Lynch McCoy at 570-726-3511 - clintoncountycleanscapes@yahoo.com
