Chris Yaudes a native of this area and has always been an avid participant in water sports (swimming, water skiing, snorkeling, boating). She became interested in Scuba when she went to STSC on a trip to Bonaire, in April 1980. Upon returning home she enrolled in the PADI Open Water course and scuba became the "Big Thing" in her life. Chris has been certified in most specialty courses and received the Master Scuba Diver certification. She went on to earn her Divemaster and Assistant Instructor rating. She has also completed the IDC (Instructor Development Course) Training course for instructor.  In 2012 PADI presented Chris with her Twenty-five year pin and certificate.
Chris has always had great interest in education and learning. Her career is in education. She attended colleges in the U.S. and Europe. She has earned degrees in and held positions in: teaching, educational administration, counseling, and tests and measurements. She also holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration. Chris retired after 40 years in Educational positions, but is still actively involved, especially in Home-bound  Instruction and testing.
Chris is a well traveled diver. As an avid photographer, she has taken many picture both above and below water. She loves to make picture tours of the places she has been.
She often is asked to talk to the Bio and Earth Science classes about scuba and the underwater life. Chris also played a major role in taking scuba to the Lycoming County Camp Cadet back in the 80's and is still active with the program today.
